Serenity Prayer
God, give me:
Peace of mind
to accept what I can not change.
Curage
to change what I can, and
Understanding
to realize the difference.
Or:
God, give me
Peace of mind,
to accept all the people I can not change.
Curage
to change the one I can. And
Understanding
to realize that that person is ME.
Serenity Prayer with comments
GOD
The name of our true intrinsic reality that has always been - and can never leave us.
Not an idea of a 'higher power' which is beyond us as a kind of Santa Claus
who responds to our wishes and dreams.
Someone we believe has the power to 'fix' life for us,so it will become, as we want it
- if we behave in a way that he is considered to appriciate
GIVE
Not as a gift or an unbecoming present,
but as the inevitable consequence of the inherent laws of life
ME
My true self, the reality that has always existed
and that never changed despite all superficial changes of life in general.
SERENITY
Not as in calm, relaxed, etc,
but as when completely refraining from all unrealistic,
wishfull thinking that reality should been different than it is.
TO ACCEPT
Total insight and acceptance of the fact that reality
can not present itself in any other way
than just as it presents itself right now, moment by moment by moment.
WHAT I CANNOT CHANGE
Reality ....end of discussion. What is ... IS.
No matter how I turn and twist it.
The only thing I can change ... is my attitude.
CURAGE TO CHANGE
How our lives are unfolded depends on our ability to make responsible decisions
regarding actions which we believe needs to be carried out
to meet the challenges of life and take us towards our goals.
No matter how we react - or not -
we will accept the consequences that will be the result.
WHAT I CAN
What we can change is our way of looking at reality.
Thus, the way we react to life's events may change.
UNDERSTANDING
TO REALIZE THE DIFFERENCE.
Whoever lifts a cat by the tail gets an insight, a wisdom,
which can not really be learned in any other way.
Wisdom is achieved through experience.
Wisdom is to 'co-operate' with reality.

No matter how strongly I wish even requires-
